Step back in time and visit the historic Minor-Porter log house. Visitors of all ages are welcome to arrive at any time during the open house. Visitors will get a feel for pioneer life as they tour the log home, smoke house, barn, dugout and homestead grounds. The tour is free with the $5 per vehicle entrance fee to LLELA.

Elvis remembrance

MCL Grand, 100 N. Charles St.

The 2015 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest world champion, David Lee, will make his Texas debut along with DFW’s David Allen in their “1st Annual Elvis: Remembered.”

The festivities begin with a pre-show “Elvis: ’68,” followed by a VIP meet and greet at 6:30 p.m. and the main show at 7:30 p.m. Special Guest emcee is Texas native Eddie Stephens. All artists will be backed-up live by the world-famous band Fever of Dallas, TX.

Tickets are $55 for VIP rows A-C for the main show, plus private meet and greet and Elvis: ’68 pre-show access; $40 for VIP rows A-C for the main show plus private meet and greet; $45 for premium rows D-L for the main show plus Elvis: ’68 pre-show access; $30 for premium rows D-L for the main show; $35 for rows M-P to the main show plus Elvis: ’68 pre-show access and $35 for rows M-P to the main show.

Guided kayak tour

LLELA, 201 E. Jones St.

LLELA instructors will give an introduction to kayaking and water safety basics on either the McWhorter Creek or the Beaver Pond at LLELA. Both are havens for wildlife, including turtles, frogs, fish, beavers and many other species. All skill levels are welcome and all equipment is provided. The tour is open to ages 7 and up.
